We invite you to a magic tour devoted to one of the most known and favorite Russian composers Petr Tchaikovsky.
We would like to offer you the tour combining the excursion program devoted to the composer's life and work in St. Petersburg with the unique opportunity of listening to his exciting music performed by the best orchestras of St. Petersburg: the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Mariinsky Opera, the Mussorgsky Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Every year main conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre Valeri Gergiev will be artistic director of musical festival "The stars of the White Nights" which will be taking place from 30th of May to 30th of June in St. Petersburg.
The director of honored orchestra of Saint-Petersburg Philharmony Yuri Temirkanov is arranging the 7th winter festival "Arts Square" from 28.12. to 07.01.This year the festival is dedicated to a 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich. The festival will focus on his music and that of his contemporaries.
You have a great treat in store for you invited some of the world's leading musicians to participate. Maxim Shostakovich, the son of Dmitri Shostakovich will open the festival conducting the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra with Ignat Solzhenitzyn as guest soloist, performing Shostakovich's grand First piano concerto. Vadim Repin, Barbara Hendricks, Sayaka Shoji, Vladimir Spivakov and Dmitri Hvorostovsky are among the performers you will hear. The Borodin Quartet, the Capella Choir, a ballet performance and literary evening will round out the program.
DAY 1:

DAY 3:
- City tour by bus. (2nd part) this part is devoted to Shostakovich work in Leningrad during the Blockade in the Second World War including the Memorial Museum of Leningrad Defense and Siege and Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery.
DAY 4:
- Excursion to the Hermitage. Large Philharmonic Hall. Mariinsky Theatre (ballet or opera)
Day 5:
- Excursion to the place and park in Pushkin, lunch in restaurant "Podvorie", excursion to the palace and park in Pavlovsk. Departure from Pavlovsk. Arrival to the hotel.
